Spare My Keys_Notary was founded by a remarkable black woman, Cortney Bivens, who is a dedicated Paralegal providing notary services to a diverse population. Cortney also has a passion for supporting and bringing awareness that less-privileged communities may benefit from limited legal services offered by paralegals.

While Cortney is currently focused on providing notary services for those who are in need of such services, she is also striving to be able to provide a wide range of support to include legal document assistance/preparation, access to housing resources, referrals to other organizations and much more.

With over 14 years of legal experience as a paralegal in a variety of different areas of law and 5 years as a commissioned notary, Cortney has the skillset to be able to provide notary services and more. Since Cortney is not a licensed attorney, she is unable to provide legal advice or representation. However, she’s working on being help navigate self-help options and assist in preparing/completing legal documents for those in the community who are at a disadvantage of receiving legal help or unable to afford the help.

Looking ahead to the future, Cortney’s faith leads her to believe that the legal community in Nevada will be open to creating and/or sharing space for paralegals to provide limited legal services that would allow for legal advice or representation
